01 Day: Arrival Agartala
Meeting and assistance on arrival at the airport, our representative welcome and escort you by a private car and transfer to the hotel, whilst the room keys and check-in is organized, our representative would hand over the documents and brief the tour programme to you. Overnight at the hotel.
Agartala, the capital city of Tripura is tucked in the north eastern part of India. Set close to the neighbouring state of Bangladesh, Agartala is rich in flora & fauna, the legendary state of Tripura is a beautiful world in itself. Agartala in Tripura is a laid back administrative centre, gained prominence when Maharaja Krishna Manikya shifted his capital here in the 19th century. This market town for rice, tea, jute, and oilseed, is the commercial center of the region surrounding it. The major attraction of the town is the Ujjayanta Palace, which was established in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style in 1901 by Maharaja Radhakishore Manikya.Another major place of attraction is the Kunjaban Palace built in 1917 by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya. It is located at a distance of 1 km away from the Ujjayanta Palace on a hillock.
02 Day: Agartala – Unakoti (180 km: 6 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Unakoti. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. It is Shaiba pilgrimage and dates back to 7th – 9th centuries if not earlier. The marvelous rock carvings, murals with their primitive beauty. Unakoti means one less than a crore and it is said that these many rock cut carvings are available here. These carvings are located at a beautifully landscaped forest area with green vegetation all around which add to the beauty of the carvings. Overnight at the hotel.
Unakoti, sacred destination of Tripura, 178 km from Agartala, is deservedly reputed for its 7th - 9th century stone and rock cut images, deep in the forests near Kailashahar. The worship of Shiv-shakti (shaivism) is an old tradition in Tripura and this is beautifully endorsed by the 30 ft high Shiva head (the Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava) with an embroidered headdress which forms part of one of the largest bas-reliefs in the country, at Unakoti. According to the Archaeological Survey of India, Unakoti is one of the biggest bas-relief sculptures in India. It is a treasure trove of ancient delights. The term Unakoti means 'one less than a core'. The place is also dotted with the ruins of the ancient temples which draw attention of the tourists.
03 Day: Unakoti – Jampui (65 kms: 2 ½ hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Jampui. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Jampui hills, the permanent seat of eternal spring are situated at an altitude of 3000’ above sea level. Jampui is famous for its charming landscape and bracing climate. The excellent climatic condition, green forests, beautiful orange garden, view of raising and setting sun are wonderful sight for tourists. The hill range has villages inhabited by Reang tribes. Visit Reang tribal village in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Jampui Hills, one of the 6 principal hill ranges of Tripura, is situated at an altitude of about 3000 feet above the sea level. It provides a memorable experience for the tourists. The hill range consists of cluster of tribal villages and is the home for Lusai and Reang tribal. Betalongchhip, the highest peak in Tripura, is here. The place is excellent with climatic condition, green forests, beautiful orange garden on the both side of hill slopes, variety of floral tapestry, adventures awe-inspiring trek routes, and placid lakes. Various viewpoints in the hill range provide exceptional panoramic views of the valley and villages of Mizoram. The unique Orange festival is celebrated during November every year.
04 Day: Jampui – Agartala (225 kms: 6 hrs)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Agartala. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the evening is free for rest and relaxation. Overnight at the hotel.
05 Day: Agartala – Pilak (120 kms: 4 hrs)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Pilak. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Later visit the ruin site of Hindu and Buddhist Sculpture. It dates back to 8th and 9th centuries. Beautiful images scattered in an area of about 10 Sq.Km. have been found. The images, terracotta plaques and sealing found here reflect survival of heterodox creeds and sects representing both Hinduism and Buddhism. Colossal stone images of Avolokiteshwar and Narasimha have been found here. Overnight at the hotel.
Pilak is situated in Tripura, surrounded by flourishing green valley speckled with paddy fields. The city is sparsely populated and serves as the gateway to the rich bygone era of the state. Pilak is significant as a pilgrim destination in India, from both Hinduism as well as Buddhism point of view. One of the major attractions of the city are the archaeological remains found here, which date back to somewhere around eighth and ninth century AD. One can find some of the most exquisite Hindu and Buddhist sculptures at Pilak in Tripura. The relics unearthed at Pilak include terracotta plaques, sealing with Stupa, huge stone images of Avolokiteswara and Narasimha, etc. The plaques and the sealing signify survival of heterodox creeds and sects representing both Hinduism as well as Buddhism.
06 Day: Pilak – Udaipur (45 kms: 1 ½ hrs) – Neermahal – Agartala (120 kms: 4 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Udaipur visit the famous Tripura Sundari Temple. Afterward drive to Sonamura, visit Neermahal, Lake Palace. Drive back to Agartala. Overnight at the hotel.
Udaipur is located in the north eastern state of Tripura. Its places of tourist interest attract tourists from across the globe. It is situated only 55 km from the capital city Agartala. The original name of Udaipur was Rangamati and Radha Kishorepur. It is a sacred spot dotted with the famous temples of Tripura and hence is known as the 'temple town of Tripura'. Tripura Sundari and Bhubaneswari temples and Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary are the main attractions here. Tripura Sundari temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas which is also known as Matabari temple. It is perched on the Dhanisagar hillock. The temple is dedicated to Ma Kali and is built in the typical Bengali hut style.
07 Day: Agartala – Sipahijhola (Excursion 35 kms: 1 hr one way)
After breakfast, day visit to Sipahijhola Sepahijala is covering an area of 18.532 km. More than 150 species of residential birds, migratory birds, orchid garden, boating facilities, wild life, botanical garden, zoo, elephant joy-rides, rubber and coffee plantation attracts the visitors. The famous spectacled monkey is found here. In the afternoon, visit the interesting State Museum in Agartala. Overnight at the hotel. Note: State Museum is closed on Monday.
08 Day: Agartala – Hometown (By Air)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport to board the flight for hometown. Tour concludes here with happy memories.
