The “Palace of wheels of Central India”, the Deccan Odyssey recreates the Royal Past of the Marathas. Launched in January 2004, Deccan Odyssey is a collaboration of the Indian Railways and the Maharashtra Tourism. The week long journey transports it’s passengers to the touristic delights of Maharashtra. Starting from the pulsating city of Mumbai, this Maharaja train takes you to the grandeur and the majestic sea forts of Sindhudurg, the beautiful village of Tarkali, the fun and frolic at the Goa beaches, breathtaking wildlife safaris of Tadoba, and lastly winding up at the world famous caves Ajanta and Ellora.

From its plush interiors, to its awesome cuisine everything in the train spells our sheer royalty. Each Passenger saloon named after some of the best places and forts of Maharashtra, offers Four Cabins & Common Lounge Area with DVD Player. The Cabins are luxuriously furnished with private attached Bathroom, Shower & Toiletries, 4 Channel Music Facility, Individual Cabin Temperature Control Panel, Direct Dialing Facility, Electronic Safe & a Small Cupboard. The Suite Cabins offers Master Bedroom with Living Area, 2 Bathrooms & Private DVD Player. What’s more…there is also a Personal Attendant/Butler available in each sleeper saloon, round the clock for your service!
